Re: The NIT isn't the worst thing
Just hard to swallow finishing 4th in sec and missing the tourney. Has that ever happened to any sec team? If we were in fourth place solo at 12-6 I'd be more likely to agree. But given the log jam at fourth place, one could make the argument we are sixth. But even at sixth, it would be hard to take.

Re: NCAA Tourney/Selection Thread
I say that we are on the outside looking in. It was just a touch too little too late. My gut tells me that if we were able to win either LSU part one, or the Grambling game, we would be in. We just didn't leave ourselves enough margin. That being said, I think we're playing like one of the best four...

Re: Team Rankings now says 79%
I have a really hard time understanding Ok. St.'s claim to a bid over our claim. I know they play in a tough conference, but geez. I watch a lot of their games as I'm a huge fan of the program due to family ties, but I can't understand it. Mississippi St. I understand a bit better, but also tough fo...

Re: Disadvantage
I would say if we get the win tonight, don't hold your breath too much for Saturday. We have to hope that a second win against Kentucky in as many weeks will be enough to get us in. Three wins in three days is a tall order.

Re: OT: Pete Maravich record …
THE RECORD STANDS!!! Davis finishes his career 3 points shy of the record after scoring 22 points in his final game. (Unless the team gets invited to a post season tournament) It wouldn’t surprise me if they got invited to the Basketball Classic Tournament in order for him to break the record. The ...

Re: Sewer pipe underneath Dudley Field?
Love this. This is what makes VM different. Somehow, I doubt infrastructure is ever discussed on Bama boards. Completely! I find this conversation so fascinating and I am very appreciative of the contributions of so many knowledgeable members of the board. I'm engaged in a project now that involves...

Re: UGA Wreck is getting uglier every day
Its just all really sad. If I take a step back and forget about that these were college athletes and verry young people, I begin to understand that they made some horrific choices that young people sometimes do. Its not exclusive to athletes or recruiting staffers. It makes me feel old to say it, bu...

Re: NIT Finals or NCAA first round loss?
NIT run to the finals is more fun as a fan than a first round flame out. If you sneak into the tourney with low expectations though it can be good to be in. If you're really disappointed to be in the NIT then even a deep run won't knock off the stench of missing the NCAAT.

This may be unpopular, but I'd prefer they keep winning at a high clip. Helps our case should we put ourselves in a position to make a run at the tournament. Need quality wins.

I would vote for Mizzou. Easier opponent over time most likely. Additionally, as time goes on, I feel less and less tie to a rivalry with Ole Miss. I just want to win.

Re: PWO WR Derek Kee makes commitment to Vandy official
I know a young man going to Auburn as a PWO. The deal at Auburn is - he is expected to be there for the first summer session in early June, live in the athletic dorm with the team, eat meals with the team, have his own locker, train like a scholarship player all summer, dress for all home games, tr...

Re: OT: AD CSL
Given our structural challenges in the revenue sports, is it possible for one to be a good AD and not have successful programs in those sports? Sometimes I think yes, but on the other hand, those are the big enchilada in an athletic department.

Re: Saban Rejects Players Asking for Big NIL Deals
As John said, is it up to Coach Saban to say no? He can say no all he wants and let someone else say yes. If he wants to keep winning he'd be wise to work it that way. And my guess is that he is. I'm sure there are plenty of other people in Tuscaloosa who can figure out when to say yes on this.

Re: How old are the people on this board?
39. Class of 2006. I don't quite live and die with VU wins and losses like I did my first five years after graduating. But I'm a daily visitor to this board. None of my business but curious anyway -- why vandy05 if you graduated in 06? I'll gladly tell it :) Came to campus in the fall of 2001, but ...

Re: OT: Gabe Jeudy-Lally transfers again…
The concept of redshirting and its future is an interesting one. The top programs have really started foregoing the practice starting more than a decade ago, I'm guessing because they were losing guys to the pros and not getting as much on the field time from them. Everyone may be moving into that b...

Re: There's a lot of terrible teams
in the NFL playoffs. Some teams lost the game before they even knew it. Look at the NY giants, not the great team not pretty but efficient and the QB makes plays legs and arm. The opposite is the Tampa bay Bucs. Relying on a 40 year old to throw the ball 60 times today. That's coaching and that's a...
