Was surprised the pass beyond the line of scrimmage call was reversed.
The reversal was appropriate, but it was very close.
Hawaii's burning their timeouts early helped as well.

Re: PWO Commitment: Jackson Heis 6-3 190 WR Dallas-Highland Park
Joe was from Highland Park as were both Steve McCoy and Glenn Watson who were a couple of years behind Joe. Although HP has the quality of facilities of an expensive private school and the net worth and income of the families who send their kids there are comparable to an elite private school, it is...

The trade for kyrie is what sank the mavericks. [/quote] I was not in favor of the Kyrie trade, and I hated losing Finney-Smith. However, the addition of Kyrie is not the problem. There were some close losses after the trade because neither Kyrie nor Luka would step up and take the last shot (time r...

Re: Globe Life Field roll call!
Those are very good recommendations for Fort Worth eateries. I would skip Mi Cocina even though the food is great only because it is a DFW chain and has had locations in Atlanta and other cities. If you are looking for something within walking distance of the stadium, there are several bars and rest...

Re: Military Bowl...Duke vs. UCF
We’ve drawn much better than that for every recent bowl we’ve been in. While possible, anecdotal evidence suggests not. At the 2018 Texas Bowl, "More than 51,000 fans filled Houston’s NRG Stadium, and most estimates suggested Baylor fans made up 75-80% of that total." https://www2.baylor....

Second year in a row in McKinney and second win in a row for Ferris State. Ferris State's QB from the 2021 national championship team is a wide receiver on the Falcons roster and was a freshman starter on Maryland's 2017 national championship lacrosse team. I believe the game was played in Allen a f...

I stayed until the bitter end.
Midway through the third quarter, I told my wife that we would leave as soon as Vanderbilt scored.

Re: Hawaii Game Tickets
According to a NCC email, Vanderbilt has a small allotment. The deadline for NCC members submitting requests for tickets was July 22, and the ticket office was supposed to let those requesting tickets know as soon as possible after that date. I requested 2, but have not heard anything, and as of tod...

Jared Bernhardt, the 2021 Tewaaraton Trophy (the lacrosse equivalent of the Heisman) winner, was the starting QB on Ferris State's DII National Championship Team this fall. He just signed as an undrafted free agent with the Atlanta Falcons. He is a great athlete and may make a NFL roster as a WR or ...

Re: Gentry Estes (Tennessean): What are you doing, Vanderbilt? Keep your 'Star V' for athletics
The new chancellor was a marketing professor. I have a sneaking suspicion this stoopid idea came from his desire to have one logo for the University. I like the Star V and am not a fan of the new logo, but I get trying to make the "branding" more uniform. Vanderbilt has not done the best ...

I ate at one in Birmingham when I was there for the Compass Bowl, and my brother, who lived in Huntsville for many years, sends me a few slabs of ribs from Dreamland every Christmas.
At one time (2014?), there was a Dreamland concession stand on the north end of the press box side of the Dud.

Since I was a kid, I pulled for the AFL, now AFC, team so I am hoping Cincinnati wins, but I think the Rams win big 42-10.

Ms. Mize made a fortune cashing checks for Vandy students for a small (probably usurious) "fee". You could literally write a "check" on a paper bag at Ms. Mize's as long as you timely replaced it with cash. I saw Senator Howard Baker there late one night. I am not sure if he was ...

Re: OT-XCJF & SEC Refs??
We had some very bad calls in the game we lost in OT to UT when CJF was our coach. IIRC, there was a controversial fumble call that went against Vanderbilt that cost us a touchdown. Also in another UT game, that we won when CJF was our coach, there were two awful calls that CJF challenged and they ...
