Re: Transfer Portal Closed as of July 1? - Pippen, Jr implications

Is there some talk around town that it might be the key to getting Pippen back for another season? Or did I simply imagine I heard something like that when a little bird flew by the window? Ya know, like rumors. Well...this is certainly encouraging: https://twitter.com/dore_report/status/1411055700...

Re: State fans threw beer on me and my son

That sucks. It is true, all fan bases have the "few" that get everyone categorized as horrible fans. As was alluded to earlier, Vandy has taken a lot of heat for something out of their control. You could hear it in Corbins answers at the press conference prior to the finals. I have family...

Re: So who does everyone think..

Corbs likes to let guys work through tough situations- including those related to their own maturity or stress. And he usually pushes the right buttons. Would not be surprised to see Little start and have several solid inning s. Neither would I. Christian Little has a huge upside and may well be a ...

Re: Shortened series next year?

Anyone know how the CWS schedule will be shortened next year. It is my understanding that next year on this Saturday night we will be playing the final games, I believe there will be fewer days between the second game and the third game for a 2 and 0 team. If that schedule had been in place this ye...

Another Nolan Cressler result would be alright.

The media often is not in tune with their customers (or people who choose not to be their customers).

Yesterday Arkansas was the betting favorite to win in Omaha, with Vanderbilt being second. That will have to be recalculated.

VU's next game is next Saturday or Sunday. Why would anyone other than Rocker start that game?

Re: OT, but not really

Fairly standard in tournament play on all levels; lose one of your first two games and it's much harder to win the tournament. While it's a juggling act for coaches managing their bullpens, position players like it because they are entering the game in full stride with hitting timing already locked...

Re: Our draw

Agree that the UT draw looks rougher than ours. Nevertheless, there is a lot to be not so confident about. Hopefully, Kumar regains his location and control--he has seemed a bit off lately. Those old fashioned honest-to-goodness curve ball ball pitchers have given us fits over the last several week...

Maybe the first peak was just a foothill.

Re: Feel like we've given up a lot of HRs this year?

Those are interesting statistics; they obviously indicate that in some respects our pitching in SEC play has been better than in the SEC and NCAA championship year 2019. Maybe fewer walks or lower opponents' batting average?

Re: Question for those over 60...

Lou had a pretty low fielding percentage for an outfielder. However, in one of the most important games of his career, the 1978 one-game A.L. East playoff against Boston, he had a couple of fielding plays in sun drenched right field that saved the day.

From Vandy 247: Vanderbilt will go small with its 13th and final scholarship for the 2021-22 season. On Wednesday night, the Commodores landed a commitment from 4-star shooting guard Shane Dezonie out of Wolfeboro (N.H.) Very small point and not detracting from the Dores’ effort and success this weekend but a couple of posts have referred to State gesturing toward the VU dugout. Isn’t it likely those were directed to the “boisterous” student group on top of the dugout? They were having a lot of fun, some of it perh...
