OT: SEC quarterbacks in NFL draft

Post by Golddore68 »

Some SEC quarterbacks are getting a lot of consideration for the NFL draft.

Who do you think will be the best NFL prospect?

1. Bryce Young, Alabama. Some are saying he’ll be the No. 1
pick. His only downside is he’s not as tall as most NFL quarterbacks. He’s 5-10. Most NFL quarterbacks are 6-2 or taller.

2. Will Levis, Kentucky. The Tennessee Titans and other teams seem to be interested in him. He may be a pro-type quarterback and have an outstanding NFL career, but he didn’t show that his senior year. He had an amazing season his junior year, but a few of his playmakers graduated and he didn’t do as well his senior season. He didn’t have the type of breakout season that you expect top NFL quarterback prospects to have. Against UT and Vanderbilt he didn’t do well at all.

3. Anthony Richardson, Florida. Like Levis, he didn’t have that breakout season you expect an NFL quarterback prospect to have. He looked like a top quarterback in some games and didn’t look that impressive in others, like the Vanderbilt game. His completion percentage was not good. I think he might be the type of player who sits and learns for a couple of years before getting his chance.

4. Hendon Hooker, UT. He did have a breakout season, bit he suffered an injury. Sometimes players can overcome ACL injuries and work their way back to the level they were before the injury, and sometimes it turns out to be a nagging problem that persists and hinders them through their career. Also, Hooker played in a system that allowed him to put up huge numbers. UT’s offense was designed around having their receivers in one-on-one man coverage and Hendon could exploit that. He won’t be able to play in that type of offense on am NFL team. Whether he’ll be able to adapt to the NFL game is a question.

5. Stetson Bennett, Georgia. He’s not even listed on draft boards but he won the national championship.
