Goofy looking 3-6 DP to end top 1st, but it counts. We Vandy faithful have grown accustomed to superior SS defense over the years. Davis Diaz shaky to start the season. 4 errors already and not the strongest arm. He's clearly an overall good player, but the jury is still out on his long term SS future.

3 walks and a hbp and NOTHING. We need to stay on base as the UCLA pitcher has a cannon for an arm.

3 walks, 1 HBP, 2 caught stealing, #5 hitter up. UCLA pitcher really struggling...until the big hook gets Vastine looking. Really strange inning. 0-0 to 2nd. Bizarre.

TV guys said the 1st inning error on Diaz changed to a hit. Very iffy ruling. Vandy down 1-2-3 in 2nd on 3 deep fly outs.

Iowa 7-LSU 2, bottom 4th. Iowa pitcher loaded the bases in bottom 4th on 3 walks, gets ejected. Arguing balls & strikes? I don't know. Baseball...gotta love it!

UCLA pitcher has struggled, but has come up big when he's needed to. Vandy has only 1 hit, this guy is good, getting his slow breaking ball over for strikes, really throwing Vandy hitters' timing off. But he's up to 68 pitches in the 4th.

I thought the same thing, plus Noland's foot was on the center of the edge of the base instead of on the corner closest to 3rd.

Owen deserved better. We had chances, but couldn't make contact. Owen goes 4 2/3 and leaves with runners on 1st and 2nd. Hliboki comes in to get the 3rd out.

Corbs pulls the starting pitcher sooner rather than later 2 days in a row. Has to be pitch-count related, but still encouraging considering he has been slow to pull struggling pitchers in the past. Owen had a great day!
