Walks and HBP are killing us

Followed by a BB, the 217th HBP of the young season (my count may be off just a bit), and hard ground ball just to the right of the 2B that turns into a run scoring double. Self-inflicted pain. Sigh...

EBjr leadoff BB. Ready to watch him run!!!

And Polk gets HBP. Wow. A season's worth of HBPs in 10 innings.

Owen Ks first 2 in 2nd, then another BB. At least the leadoff men aren't getting on base like TCU yesterday. Questionable called strike 3 and Vandy to the bottom 2nd

Hewett's 2-run double in the 1st was a rope over the LF's head. He stroked it. EBjr speed helped set it up, he & Polk tagged and advanced on a medium F7. LF rushed his throw, was offline. Speed kills!!!

Vastine leadoff walk, followed by solid up-the-middle singles by Diaz & EBjr have loaded the sacks w/1out. Gotta use it...

Polk comes thru!! 3-run triple to center. CF made a poor choice to dive for it, turned a double into a triple. EBjr barely scored ahead of the relay home. Anyone else would've been out by a mile. Have I mentioned that speed kills?

And yet another HBP (Schreck). What is going on???

Cowboy pitchers having trouble throwing strikes. Another walk (Hewett) loads the bases and Noland delivers a hard 2-run single to right. 7-1 Dores. No, 8-1, Austin with another RBI single. The bats woke up this morning.

Vastine dropped dropped what looked like a catchable soft single to CF, bases loaded again. Bulger brings in 9th run with a big, soft hopper to 3rd. Diaz out 6-3 on a nice play by SS. 9-1 after 2.

Owen ahead of schedule, walks the 2nd hitter in the 3rd. Still, the leadoff man didn't get, Owen K'ed him.

Nice 3rd-out catch by Hewett on liner diving away from him down the line. Still 9-1 to bottom of 3rd, EBjr leading off. SS & 1B both make nice plays on sharp grounder up the middle, barely get EBjr. Unfortunately, EB thought it was going thru and slowed down to make the turn at 1st. Credit SS for a good play.

First Cowboy leadoff man on base, sharp single past diving Noland to right. Next guy grounds into easy 6-4-3 DP. Nice play by Diaz on a tough hop.

9-2. Oppo field HR down the RF line, very nice catch by dude in the stands who brought his glove. 3rd out...didn't happen. Big easy hopper to Diaz at short and he just plain old missed it. Went right thru him for an error. But Owen picks him up striking out the next guy. To bottom 4th.

Hewett leadoff triple off the wall to LF just over left fielder's glove, scores on Austin single past drawn-in infield. 10-2. Austin steals 2nd, I don't the pitcher ever saw him go. Otherwise he would've easily been picked off. Goes to 3rd on Vastine 4-3, scores on wild pitch. 11-2 heading to 5th.

Air Force Dore...missing you, dude, wish you could've made the trip.
