Swanson still has no timetable for a return.

The Braves desperately need him back, for both his hitting and fielding. They could have easily lost yesterday (or gone to extra innings) because Camargo (one of the backup SS) misplayed what would have been the third out in the 9th in a one run game. The next batter singled to put runners at the corners, but the next batter luckily flied out. Camargo also went 0-4 with 4 strikeouts and is only batting .221.

The good news is that the Braves did pick up a great defensive shortstop last week, and that move has paid off handsomely. Many of the Braves pitchers try to create ground ball outs, and you need solid infielders to make it work (Marlins 2nd baseman last night had two errors in one inning, and it hurt them).

The Braves still need Swanson back for his bat, but at least they are losing games due to poor infield play anymore. Hopefully Swanson returns soon.

You'll be happy to know Swanson went 3-4 with a walk and an RBI as the Rome Braves crushed the Kannapolis Intimidators 14-4. Once again, the Intimidator bullpen folded like a cheap suit.
