If we get the dreaded 8/9 matchup...
Teams I'm not afraid of:
Purdue
Houston to a lesser extent (just got to contain Sasser)
If we are in the 7/10 game or even 6/11:
UConn
Baylor to a lesser extent
I'd LOVE our chances in a second round game with Purdue or Uconn. I'd feel good about playing the other two as well.

Given the spot we are in now, an 8 or 9 seed is not something to dread.dallasdore wrote: ↑Sat Mar 11, 2023 12:55 pm Teams I'm not afraid of:

A little early for 23/24 predictions here.
We’re a one seed this year. And we’ll get to play at memorial again!

If it is the NIT, we better make it to the garden this time.bernstml19 wrote: ↑Sat Mar 11, 2023 7:59 pm A little early for 23/24 predictions here.

The NIT semis and final are in Las Vegas this year - Indianapolis next year. Hopefully we're in the NCAA though!Obvious wrote: ↑Sat Mar 11, 2023 8:02 pmIf it is the NIT, we better make it to the garden this time.bernstml19 wrote: ↑Sat Mar 11, 2023 7:59 pm A little early for 23/24 predictions here.

If we’re this much on the bubble then the play-in game would make the most sense. I’ll take it.

If we get the dreaded 8/9 matchup ...
... I will applaud the committee for putting us where we actually belong based on our wins, instead of judging us by our losses.

Re: If we get the dreaded 8/9 matchup...
Pretty ambitious thinking VU can go from Next 4 out to an 8 or 9 seed. Who knows thought as none of this makes sense and it ends up as old guys in a room making these decisions. If the SEC gets 8, then Vandy absolutely should get a bid (likely as an 11 seed). Otherwise, a 1 or 2 seed in the NIT isn't a terrible consolation prize. It's great we even have a reason to watch the selection this year as Vandy fans.
