So. Can somebody explain how a team that:
(1) finished 11-7 in the SEC
(2) tied for 4th in a league that figures to get 8 teams in
(3) beat several of the SEC teams that are “in”
gets excluded? I’m sorry, but the beginning of the season was a long time ago. This team should be in.


Edit: OH! Not to mention, VU played 3 of the top 5 SEC teams twice, and the other two on the road. And pretty much got hosed with a 36:11 FTA discrepancy in a 6-point loss to the #2 team. And still finished where they did despite a brutal conference slate.

Agreed. I don’t see anything impressive about miss state but their size. They can’t pass or shoot.
We are deserving of a tournament bid and I could care less about any stats or quads or net margins anyone wants to show me. We’re a very good team and it will be a crime if we don’t get in.

We blew some games in our pre-conference schedule. If we could have salvaged one or two of those we might be an "in". If the Committee takes puts an emphasis on a team's last ten games then we might be good to go.

BUT-BUT-BUT....Utah State swept UNLV this season who once had a 37 win season.

OK, so it was 37 years ago when UNLV did it...but that's just a technicality. The new "NET" ratings counts everything going back 40 years...not just recently. It would be "unfair" to only count recent games.

manjon with zero turnovers and team with only nine was big. i don’t recall a vandy team that possessed and passed as well as this one….and q is a major part of it.

Random observations: When Manyon got the ball, MSU basically backed off - they knew he would get past them. Ezra had 7 assists, no turnovers. There were times in the game when the maroon shirts were each about 3-4 inches taller than the VU players (except for Q). The number of "over the back" fouls my MSU were many - nearly all uncalled. Vandy was unlucky on bounces and loose balls. Very confident 3-point shooting by VU. That was the plan and they executed. Great ball movement. BTW, the student section was full and loud 30 minutes before the tip. Stack complimented the students in his post-game comments. Also praised Ansong for his effort on Sr night. VU made just enough free throws to win. Big win against a much taller team. We enjoyed watching the boys in Memorial this year. Go Vandy!
