Have this same conversation every season with my friends. We really seem to struggle recruiting big time hitters. Or maybe we arent really recruiting those types of players instead favoring defense and athleticism.
Which makes it more odd to me that we don't play more small ball.

His 7th & 9th innings were the 2 best pitched innings of the young season. What a weapon a confident 3-inning Maldo will be for Corbs this year. Pitching has to drive Vandy this year, it was terrific this weekend.geeznotagain wrote: ↑Sun Feb 26, 2023 2:34 pm Maldo appears to be back. That's a huge plus for the team!

We didn't hit a lick this weekend, but we weren't playing g chopped liver either. UCLA ranked 17th and may be higher by the end of the year. They came in averaging roughly 12 runs a game and got 4 in 27 innings. Pretty strong for us.
Need to pound Austin Pray this Tuesday. Get the hitters going. Let's hope they don't go with a junk pitcher.

3rd Floor, you're much too kind. I've loved Vandy baseball since the 60s, the interwebs give me opportunity to show it.3rdFloorDyer wrote: ↑Sun Feb 26, 2023 2:55 pm Levon, when it comes to Vandy baseball, you are the man! Thanks for your comments and dedication. They are appreciated.
