Loyola breaks down our trapping defense with quick passes and wide open threes. Certainly there must be adjustments to counter, but adjustments are non existent.

losing at home by double digits is just not OK. we aren't even in reach. Sad because this is another preview like SMU of what's to come in SEC

Can we beat Austin Peay? Hawaii? I don’t see us winning a conference game.

A new low for team & Stackhouse. Got beat by a well-coached team with shooters. They were far from athletic but could sure play BB in a REAL offense. Not the give the ball to Scotty Pippen Show.

When was the last time, if ever, VU registered 3 or fewer assists in a game?

This danged trap defense of CJS is a joke. Yes picked up a few steals early but some of those traps were triple teams and Loyola made a pass and took shooting practice with set shots. I want to see Thomas succeed but I cringe every time he shoots - he is awful from three.

Do we have plays on offense? Very, very discouraging. Is it coaching, the roster or some of both?

I want to see Stackhouse succeed, but tonight’s failure to make any defensive adjustments to counter Loyola’s open 3’s was pretty discouraging. As Old Dude pointed out, they shredded our trapping but we stayed with it anyway. Time to do something different.

Stackhouse is still learning, and he is smart. We have a very good coach who is getting better.
