SC on a hot streak

Post by charlestonalum »

The Gamecocks really slaughtered LSU this weekend and have gotten some injured players back. They are at .500 after starting with a terrible SEC record. We are going to have our hands full and better find some scoring in all games if we want to win this series. We can beat SC but it will not be easy and we will have to play more consistently good baseball. Everyone should get out to the game and cheer our young team on that seems to play better at home.

Some of us may be down and out over our 2-1 series loss to Missouri but at least we didn't get swept. Mississippi State swept Arkansas in Starkville. South Carolina is a game from sweeping LSU in Columbia. Auburn thrashes Alabama for three games in Tuscaloosa (we visit Auburn in a couple weeks). We are 10-8 in the SEC. Only one team has more SEC wins than Vandy

Everybody in the SEC seems to do better at home. Crazy that VU swept MSU in Starkville and MSU sweeps Arkansas. South Carolina swept LSU in Columbia. Again, the SEC is really balanced this year. Only Florida seems to be way out front of everyone. Bama was looking competitive until this weekend when they were destroyed at home by Auburn, they are firmly emplaced at the bottom now.

SC outscored LSU 30-10 - and then in the midweek scored another huge bunch of runs so they come in confident and playing well. We have to play complete games to beat them - LSU was up 6-0 in the last conference game and SC came back to win it 8-6. No lead will be safe. Hope exams don't dull our competitiveness.
