Looks like he signed with us on Nov. 8. Any chance in the universe he makes it to campus?

We could have used him on our defensive line this year. That dude is massive. Like Frank Thomas massive.

Never say never, but highly unlikely.

We have 6 of the top 15-20, and I'd be surprised if any of those guys make it. The 2017 class was ranked #1 because we had so many guys in the 50-200 range, and they all made it to campus. The 2018 class is insanely deep with elite players, but those are the guys who get 7 figure bonuses.

A Vanderbilt degree and experience in the SEC is equivalent to a seven figure bonus.

A VU degree is not the equivalent to a seven figure bonus. After 10 yrs maybe.

"Seven figure bonus" covers a lot of ground. If you are talking $1 Million even, maybe the degree and SEC experience is worth a chance to develop with a fall back plan and perhaps get a bigger bonus in 3 years. The 63rd pick in the 2017 got a million. The top 20 last year all got $3M+, and all of these elite guys are ranked in the range where the money is just too high to pass. You will never convince me that a kid should pass on $2-3M because of the education. With that kind of money, you can always go back to school if injured or don't develop.

The MLB scholarship fund will pay for athletes to return to the school they signed the NLI prior to signing professionally. Also the MLB Scholarship Fund will pay a certain amount of food money per day.

One also has to figure that some players would take much less in the draft than what is mentioned above. the 2018 class could lose between 8-10 players to the draft. But maybe not...
