I haven't been watching, but this course must be incredibly difficult. At the moment three people completed the course 1 under par, and one is still out there with this score. Snedeker started off bad with a double bogey, but he has been even par the rest of the way (4 holes to go). He could move way up or way down depending on these holes (currently in a tie for 14th place).

List is in a tie for 54th place at 5 over for the day. Another day like today likely gets him to the weekend, though I am sure he would like to improve on it.

Update, last four holes - Birdie, Double Bogey, Birdie, Birdie. Sneds at +1 now with two holes left. (tie for 6th)

Par on 17.

Snedeker has the 2nd most top 10 finishes after any round of a US Open since 2010. (12). Only Dustin Johnson has more (17). Unfortunately he missed his par putt on 18 to make it #13.

Good round for Sneds. Anyone 5 over or better should feel pretty good about where they stand. Tough rough out there today.

Today has not been good for him or List. His is 4 over this round with 7 left to play, so he is at the projected cut line of +6.

List is 7 over today with just 3 to play, and he is at +12.

That probably knocks him out of the tourney, though there is a chance +8 is just enough.

It was just enough to survive to cut. Hopefully he can have a good round in the early morning to make a move back up.

He shot 3 over today for +11 overall, but that was a lot better than most, so he moved up 25 spots into a tie for 33rd.

The guy he played with (who has an unfortunate name in English, Aphibarnrat) shot a 2 under on saturday and jumped all the way to 7th. Course was "get-able" in the morning. Would have been a great opportunity for Sneds to make a move.

He never could get it going this week. I thought beforehand that he would do well due to the narrow fairways, heavy rough, and wind. He's better at driving accuracy than distance, of course. And he's purportedly a good wind player. Oh well, there are other tourneys, and other majors.

The U.S. Open is bogus in my eyes. The scores are inflated against par because they lower par on courses. Par 5's become long Par 4's. When you take a Par 72 course and make it a Par 70, 8 over par is really par. It unfortunately fools a lot of fans. 288 is still 288 whether it is 8 over or Level.

Playing against Par was supposed to be the thing that made golf become what it is, but for me match play has always been more enjoyable to watch. With today's great media technology easily making it easy to watch multiple match play matchups simultaneously, golf should go back to match play.
