Re: Typical UT BS!!

If true (I don't doubt your reporting, Nashman, but the source may not be correct), then this is an egregious abuse of leadership. Terrible.

Re: Maybe we could compete

Come on. If you and others are so pessimistic then maybe we should just drop football altogether. Switching to another league would cost us way too much money by leaving the SEC gravy train. Lea inherited an almost completely bare cupboard. His recruiting has been picking up. We have an outstanding ...

Re: MBB vs WBB

I think men are ahead, in large part because Stack started earlier. Both programs were in serious trouble when the current coaches were hired. In my view Stack was not especially effective in recruiting during his first year or two, in part because he had not developed contacts with players, high sc...

Re: Video: Clark Lea pre-Ole Miss press conference, Tuesday 10/4

Would sure be nice to hear the questions although it was a little better. It's not brain surgery to have either two mics on stands or two handheld mics to be passed around(or handed out). Come on let's make these pressers top notch especially if we are going to be the best program in the country!! ...

Trees falling

Trees continue to fall. Timber, watch out. Wisconsin coach now felled. Owed something like $16million. Has had a pretty good record. Just not recently.

And I thought pickleball was only for old folks like me, especially ones who no longer want to play tennis. Shows how much I know.

Re: Will Perdue hammers officials for Wake/Vandy game

There are complaints about officials in all sports, college and pro. Full time college officials would be very expensive. Pro football uses lawyers, bankers, etc. as officials. If pro football can't afford, or is unwilling, to hire full time officials, then how can colleges. Pro basketball and major...

Re: Carter Lang news

The Joker is truly a unique player. He is strong, great shooter and rebounder, with outstanding passing skills, plus more. Any comparison of Lang with Joker is necessarily speculative, even though there may be some superficial similarities. My concern about Lang is his foot speed. That translates in...

Re: Patrick Smith

I see in this thread that some posters are questioning the judgment of the coaches when it comes to discipline. Some are trying to establish their own criteria. I suggest to let it go. The coaches are the ones to make these decisions. None of us know any of the facts or player attitudes leading up t...

I would think that these and any more awards can only help in recruiting.

As important, the two recipients are fine young men who are great representatives of Vandy.

Maybe those two players in the cockpit were the reason for the more than one hour delay. They liked it so much no one could get them out. HA

Re: Baseball Batting Gloves

I think it is a nervous habit. Pitchers grab the resin bag, fiddle with their glove, their hat, etc. One player starts the behavior and others follow, maybe subconsciously.

Letters of Intent

I wonder how binding letters of intent are on high school athletes. Does anyone know? There is a reason I ask. I know a woman whose son plays wide receiver. He will be a high school senior this coming season. He is supposed to be 5' 10", 180 pounds. The local newspaper said he ran a 4.4 40. He ...

Articulate young men. I am proud to have them as representatives of Vandy. I hope to see more.like them so that Vandy can become the best team in the SEC.

Re: Reaction to Lea's statement, 'We know in time Vanderbilt football will be the best program in the country'

He did not say "We know... we will be #1 and national champs". I don't think we'd want to compromise to the degree necessary to reach that high/low. Definition of "best" program may include being consistently competitive on the field with STUDENT athletes that actually attend cl...
