I'm no fan of the Whistler, but Miss St is the very last fanbase in the world that I would give any credence to on the subject of objectionable noise at sports venues.

Re: Which channel are we on tonight?
I hope it's on an ESPN tv channel. I couldn't watch it yesterday on ESPN3, 'cause DirecTV for unknown reasons quit accepting my email address as valid. Grrr!

Re: I hate the whistler(s)
...here's a link to a thread about the whistlers on a Mississippi State fan board:... That dang Vandy whistler needs his ass beat down. ...Funny that they're arguing among themselves about the whistlers. Mississippi Cowbell State fans are the last cowbell fanbase in America that has any cowbell sta...

Keep those reports coming, please. This AirBnB doesn't have the SEC Channel (& the wifi's too slow to run ESPN online). ;-(

Re: Nine pitchers in a midweek game?
I got the impression that McDonald had been using that revolving pitchers approach pretty routinely in midweek games. It sorta makes sense: pitchers who work only one inning—or one out—on Wednesday are still available to pitch on the next weekend. It is, as everyone has noted, a pain in the derriere...

That's OK with me. My daughter-in-law's an alumna. So I can root for OSU (now that their star pitcher is no longer a child molester).

Re: Kyle Wright on Atlanta's major league roster, in starting rotation
Fun read. Hope it pays off for the Braves. If you're a Braves fan, its gotta be pretty scary. Even when Foltynewicz gets healthy and returns to the rotation, the Braves starting 5, when you compare it to, say, the Nats and the Phillies in their division, on paper at least looks very underwhelming. ...

Re: Coffee Shop?
If and when the Coffee Shop returns, I hope that all of the posters will be as passionate about supporting our Vanderbilt players & teams as they have been about political views... That's arguably the problem: the posters are every bit as passionate about their/our political views as they/we ar...

Sure looks like it. I hadn't posted in several days (been on the road), but I looked at it earlier today, & there were lots of personal insults going back & forth. Not good. People had been warned this could happen if they did that.

Re: Here is how to get Vanderbilt commits to sign with MLB
That just makes me believe that the reported "slot values" are currently being intentionally low-balled by the league, and thus don't possess much validity anymore. They're running about 50% of real value for the top 100.

In a fair universe, we won that game in the bottom of the 9th.

Re: Was this really a CWS team?
You could make the argument that Miss. State isn't really a CWS team either. They have serious problems with their bullpen. I don't think they'll last very long. This is entirely true. It added to my frustration, that we didn't quite beat them, the fact that they were at least as undeserving of the...

Re: Was this really a CWS team?
We left the bases loaded at least three times last night...For the weekend, we left 35 runners on base. I couldn't find what we did with RISP, but it had to be horrendous. Not to mention that the first-base ump gifted MSU in the first inning, ruling that our hit that was CLEARLY deflected in fair g...

If we condone the Whistler, next thing you know we'll be ringing cowbells & carrying giant bananas! There's no bottom to this iniquitousness.
