Re: This just in... VU has a game this evening

they have one of the better freshmen in the conference and a brand new coach and their women's team is number 1 on an extended winning streak - hope we can get a win in Columbia. It will not be easy and we are due to a letdown - this is a real test for the team and coaching staff. I'd actually be m...

Ticket proceeds from the UUT game (attendance 10,483) were more than $250,000.

Vanderbilt and Alabama had the same SEC record that year. VU won the championship by virtue of beating Alabama in both (very close) games.

Re: SOOOOOOOOOOOOO glad to have been wrong...

I did not get to see the game, but listened to the last 2 minutes on the SEC radio (which was UT announcers). At the end the color guy said "it was after the horn, it was after the horn, it was after the horn." Regular guy says "they will look at it," and the color guy in a very...

Re: Shan Foster's take on the situation via Twitter

Shan deserves his opinion, but I think there's nothing to see here. For all of his lack of success and roster issues, people have been relatively easy on Stack. I witnessed far worse vitriol for Stallings and Drew on here than Stack's ever gotten. He's been deserving of everything that's come his w...

Re: Great win!

Dores hung in there and got the job done! Congratulations to the players and coaches! Vanderbilt probably will be favored in only one or two of the remaining 8 games. If they can win four of them, that would be an 8 and 10 SEC record. While that is not a lofty goal, it would constitute the best SEC...

One of the double-figure numbers that was part of Luke's trio of statistics was blocked shots. (Usually the 3 statistics are points, rebounds and assists.)

Re: Goodbye, South End Zone; should begin to be demolished this spring

This is a dumb question, but does television avoid putting cameras on the east side of stadiums to avoid the setting sun in the west? Yes. Most football fields have their sidelines on the east and west sides; this is why running backs who do not do much zigging and zagging are sometimes called good...

Re: How old are the people on this board?

69, Class of ‘75. Listened to the radio call (was it Paul Eells at the time?) of Collis Temple stomping on VBK at LSU in 1974 then went to Tuscaloosa for our big win at Alabama and later for the NCAA Mideast Regional. Lost twice in that one. 😕 It was Paul Eells (VU's voice 1967-1978). "Holy sm...

Re: How old are the people on this board?

The question is valid: i think the mean age is proably greater than 60. There are relatively few youngsters here and as far as I can tell 0 students who probably have more important concerns. I am 79 looking at 80, i hope. You do not seem to be prone to negativity. I believe the people who are doin...

Re: How old are the people on this board?

I log on after a big road win thinking everyone would be happy only to find a lot of petty bickering and infighting. I find it so strange. We're all pulling for the same team here. Yes, some people are more arrogant and obstinate than others, but sheesh. Do you think there is a correlation between ...

Re: Next year's roster

With "fans" like 187187 we don't need enemies. I know everyone is entitled to their opinion, even their agenda, on message boards, so I suppose we will continue to get gloom and doom from 187187 until he is proven wrong or unable to see it. That would be sooner or later - probably later. ...

Re: Sports illustrated on the AR antics

That is a really interesting story. I didn't realize Davis was about to do something horrible to Manjon? The referee yanked them apart immediately. I'll go look at that part again sometime. Manjon probably should've been moving Black firmly to the right or left or backward away from QMB, if he was ...

Re: What should have happened?

I agree with cc. I doubt that the officials could have stepped in in time after Black's taunt of QMB to prevent the actions of Ezra and of Davis. Then probably no T on Stack, and no additional taunting of Black toward the Vandy bench (nothing to cry about). Black showed himself to be a first-class ...

It is good to see that at least a few Arkansas fans recognize how disgraceful their team's behavior yesterday was.
