Re: Next Season

We’ve talked about the transfers and what to expect from them next year, but what about the freshmen (Isaiah West, Jason Rivera-Torres, Malik Presley, JaQualon Presley, Carter Lang)? Does anybody have information, maybe from premium sites, of what their games are like? It appears there is a lot of l...

Re: Next Season

If Dort can be an effective defender without fouling that would be enough.

Re: Next Season

It looks like they have solid starters in positions 1 - 4 (Manyon, Lawrence, Smith and Taylor) with experience and talent. The question of course is center. I will be very pleasantly surprised if Dort is ready to start at the beginning of the season. Fortunately, the portal has given us some legitim...

I understood that Turin and Stackhouse were close. I wonder if Stackhouse was advising him that if the NBA didn’t work out, how to to leverage the transfer portal to maximize his NIL money from Vandy.

One of the other sites has him listed at 305. Is 320 correct? I hope so.

I expect he will a lot more playing time. I bet he blossoms into a really fine player. Wished we could have held on to him. I wish him well.

They’re freshman. Give Stack time to work his magic.

Re: Pop..

We had to build a different kind of team from the one we had with Scottie. That took longer than we would have liked. That's why the whole 'body of work' crap gets to me. It's BS. The season is about what you built through the season. It's subjective. As much as that sucks to some people, it's real...

Re: The NIT isn't the worst thing

First of Feb., we would have been ecstatic to know we're a shoo-in for any post-season tourney. Sorry, but not making the NCAAT next season will be inexcusable. And i hope unsurvivable for the coaching staff. Given the job Coach Stackhouse did in turning around the season, you are putting an ultima...

Re: Vandy-Kentucky SECT thread

A guy who has really taken his game to a level I didn't see coming is Tyrin Lawrence. He's always had the speed to get to the basket, but seemed out of control or not strong enough to finish. I think I heard where he added some muscle over the off season. It definitely shows. He's more confident and...

Re: Very important win

It’s been a long time since Vandy has had a point guard like Ezra. With speed and quickness. Offense and defense. His ability to penetrate, handle the ball, finish at the basket and shutdown the opposing point guard have been off the chart. Needless to say he has far exceeded expectations. As mentio...

Re: Next Year's Roster.

I hope Dia stays. I see a great deal of potential in him. He has excellent athleticism for his size. I believe his only limitations will be based on his determination to improve. He is the type of player suited for Coach Stackhouse's proven ability to develop.

With Dia getting zero playing time recently, do you think he is being targeted for a redshirt? What are the parameters for redshirting?

If the two uncommitted backs are better than the ones committed, yes take them. If they aren't, maybe not.

Re: 26 days until basketball starts and...

To me the question is how to replace Scotty Pippen, in terms of both scoring and primary ball handling. I believe Manjon will be adequate as a ball handler and distributor. So the big issue is making up the scoring, and I believe.the key to this may be Collin Smith. I expect Jordan and Myles will pi...

I never really understood why Ken Seals lost his starting role. He seemed to show a lot of promise his freshman year. Does anyone know what weakness (if any) in his game led to being benched?

Expect they'll need a red shirt year
