Wow...another guard sigh...not heavily recruited an underwhelming 3-star... SV# SV# SV# Right, because our only successful players have been heavily recruited 4- or 5-star players. Look, we already had really mixed success over the years, not just in getting Top 100 recruits to come to Vanderbilt, ...

Real neutral site, right?
It’s over 300 miles from Texas Tech to Fort Worth and the people in that town, where TCU is located, have no special love for Texas Tech.

Re: Is there any Chance?

Some people think the attitude thing could be something to do with his wanting to stay for his last year of high school and then play for North Carolina but his mother wanted him to go a year early to South Carolina for the NIL cash, so he showed up thinking he was too good to be playing for South ...

Re: Roster Thoughts

I did note that the new coach of the PIstons got a $78.5 million contract. If someone offers CJS a nba job, he is gone and I don't blame him. That is serious FU money. Honestly, given what the NCAA has become, I don't know why anyone - and I do mean *ANYONE* - would continue to coach in the NCAA if...

Bandaogo is VERY good - but I believe his old Utah Valley coach switched teams. Cal might be a leader. With that said - I’d love to get him. Stack could help him. Just so everyone knows, ESPN has Bandaogo listed as the 14th-best player in the portal--including all the ones who've already committed....

Re: Vandy in the mix for Campbell transfer Anthony Dell'Orso

I will point out that 6’6” is arguably the perfect basketball height… think of the Chicago Bulls teams that started 4 6’6” guys and a center for multiple championships (Rodman, Harper, Jordan, Pippen, plus whoever)… I’m being a little tongue-in-cheek, but it really is the size that conceivably give...

Think we had this debate long ago…..as I previously stated, I think it isn’t appropriate for a Uni to claim a non-graduating attendee as an Alum. Vandy egs- Amy Grant Al Gore Does anyone know if David Price ever came back & finished his course work? MtnVandy I went to North Texas for my Master'...

Re: Jason Rivera-Torres commits to Vandy

He may be a good player but he is not listed anywhere on ESPN high school ratings, not even a 2 star as well as I can tell. I did see where Texas A&M wanted him so maybe he is a good pickup. I wouldn’t worry about that. ESPN has really slacked off in its coverage of high school recruits in rece...

One more thing: Houston also has a coaching opening and they've already contacted NBA teams to get permission to interview their assistants (including Golden State's Kenny Atkinson and Phoenix's Kevin Young). But Stack is not among their reported targets. If you're interested in following a couple o...

Re: Legitimate concerns

I think, with all of this, you have to consider the source. 247 doesn't have much of a journalistic track record when it comes to this sort of thing. They do have a long record of reporting rumours about recruiting, many of which are on target. But many of them are also off target. Has any news sour...

Sounds like you are not totally buying into the Webanyama hype. A 7-4 guy who can play any spot on the court. Either end. Without using google, what do you think his weakness is? Not being argumentative, just wondering. Legit question between two die-hard hoops fans. Others are welcome to chime in....

Re: 247 Sports: In Jerry Stackhouse and Juwan Howard, can the NBA get the college coaching carousel spinning again?

I have no idea if there is anything to these rumors, whispers, and speculation. Unlike college programs, NBA teams generally are in no hurry to hire head coaches. This could literally drag out until June. (And the Pistons job becomes much more attractive if the team wins the NBA draft lottery and t...

Will Perdue's freshman stats were no better. Will Perdue's freshman stats were in the SEC. And he was playing as a backup on a team with some pretty good SEC big men (Olympian Jeff Turner, Brett Burrow, and fellow freshman Steve Reece), so he was only getting 5-6 minutes per game. Also, he was a le...

Their pep band was twice as loud as ours. UAB has a pretty solid music tradition, especially when it comes to basketball. I used to correspond a lot with Henry Panion, who's a music professor there. You can see him conducting in this video of Stevie Wonder performing the Star-Spangled Banner at the...

If this was your son, would y'all be so cavalier about it? I'd be freaking the heck out trying to understand what my son was doing consorting with such characters. I wonder what Miller's parents think. Well… Something else that nobody seems to have mentioned is that, while Miller is a one-and-done ...

Re: Mostly OT: Oregon coach blasts Duck fans for lackluster NIT game attendance

Somebody should've gave coach a chill pill and told him to count to 10 before taking the mic. You don't make many friends calling out fans when you lose at home in the quarterfinals of the NIT. Yeah, this is what they call an “own goal” here in the UK (i.e., accidentally scoring a goal at the wrong...

Re: OT - NYT: A Fourth Alabama Player Was at a Deadly Shooting, in a Car Hit by Bullets

I don’t think bed checks are necessary. There’s a huge jump in circumstances from not being in your room to shooting a person. Also how is the fact that an Alabama basketball player murdered someone being forgotten. This isn’t totally about Brandon Miller. Brandon Miller played a role whether innoc...
