Re: Vote now for the top 100 Commodores in Vanderbilt Stadium history now open

This was brutal. I didn’t vote for Jay at QB or Shelton Quarles at LB. That’s just wrong. Jim Arnold definitely was on the ballot I saw.

Re: Report: Brian Kelly to LSU

Surely they won’t be tapping Clark to come back. It would give him a plausible pretext to cut and run. What young gun turns down an offer to be the head coach at ND?

Big mistake by Kelly. Those maniacs in the Bayou will eat him alive.

Re: Changing the culture...in the stadium

The program is clinically dead. I fear that UK game is the last one I ever attend with my dad. Sitting in the “faculty and staff” area of Section R has become an act of masochism. It is intolerable to have that experience in your own stadium….especially when there is nothing on the field to shut all...

Re: Zac Stacy

Zac was literally one of my top 5 favorite VU players of all time. Shocking, saddening and sickening. How could he have done this? No one is beyond redemption, but he will need to engage in serious self-reflection …which he will undoubtedly have opportunity to do while in prison for aggravated assau...

That Late PI Call

From where I was sitting in Section R, that last second PI call against the UConn defense looked like blatant Offensive PI with our receiver pushing off. Am I missing something?

The Real Problem

It goes without saying that we were always going to lose this game. The utterly glaring thing that jumps out from the second half of last week through this week is that we have no pop in the running game. Losing the talented Rehman Davis has left us with no running threat that would free up some of ...

The last away game I attended was a win a against Kirby Smart in Athens that was engineered by none other than the hated Derek Mason.

Rome has Fallen

The Visigoths are in the Forum. Diermeier should walk out under cover of a white flag and give Kirby Smart the password to the Endowment Account as Vanderbilt becomes a minor tributory campus of the University of Georgia system. We submit to the power of the gothic deities Wodanaz, Tiwaz and Punraz.

On the field and in the stands. Why?

There are speed bumps all over the country laughing.

Re: Colorado columnist rips on CSU, but doesn't give Vandy much respect

For those looking, Clark provided the explanation in his press conference. Superior conditioning allowed Vandy to seize momentum. Adazio might ought to think about that.

A Magnificent Display of Gumption

These young men fought back like lions when they had every reason to give up. Last night we saw the green shoots. It is real. Our coaches know what they are doing. Celebrate and enjoy.

Re: ROCKY MOUNTAIN HIGH: Observations on Vandy's 24-21 comeback WIN over CSU

Great that you and Auric pulled the trigger on making the road trip. Sometimes an act of pure blind faith is required. That game was enormously significant for the fans of this program. It gave us tangible evidence that this coaching staff knows what it is doing. Interestingly, once the team reverse...

Re: Dysfunction at the OC?

This at least provides an explanation. We know that Seals has skills. Just maybe they will get this worked out before next week. If not, bring back Ludwig. He can turn Seals into the weapon that he did Kyle.

Re: Hate it but…

Buffy is right that we can play decent football with the right coach and SEC money. There is ample evidence of that fact. What I question is whether we can actually provide the support necessary to sustain an SEC program. That means filling the stands with black and gold and giving football emphasis...

Re: The pathological futility of VU football

Pathological futility is an excellent phrase for this phenomenon. One subtext of the Lea hire is that this may be the last shot for VU football. Given the changes to the sport, it could actually already be too late. The pressures on Sankey to jettison us will be real. I don’t like the idea of our ch...

Do You Miss Mason Yet?

Probably not. It was time for him to go. However, one of the mistakes that I think Lea made when hired was not to acknowledge some of the successes of the Mason era. Whatever you might think overall, he led us to a handful of some of the best wins of the last 50 years. Clark is in a race against tim...
