Re: 21st Century Teams
Loved la chance. Every time I hear fans of other teams say “hasn’t that guy graduated yet?” It usually means he’s been an impact player for a long time. And they said that about La Chance a lot. Plus, he looked like he was 13! To make third team in the first quarter of a century team is pretty damn ...

Re: 21st Century Teams
After reading all of the responses: I just don't think of Langhi as a 21st century player, otherwise he would have to be on there, maybe first team. I think Jenkins hold his spot - didn't he lead the league in scoring both sophomore and junior years, on good VU teams? Same with Ogilvy - his three ye...

21st Century Teams
This is kind of fun. My best attempt (minimum of 2 years with team, penalty for less than 4 years): 1st Team PG: Jermaine Beal SG: John Jenkins SF: Shan Foster PF: Matt Frieje C: AJ Ogilvy 2nd Team PG: Scottie Pippin Jr SG: Derrick Byars SF: Jeff Taylor PF: Damian Jones C: Festus Ezeli 3rd Team PG: ...

Re: Tyrin
If true, it's exciting as Manjon and Tyrin would be one of the better backcourts in the country I would think.

Re: CBS Sports: Vandy included among the losers in the transfer market
It would be really good to know what happened. I am a Stack supporter but something doesn't add up. You finish the season one of the hottest teams in the country, you are returning an all senior starting 5 (Manjon, Laurence (senior in years on campus), Wright, Stute, and QMB) which would be one of t...

Ball bouncing/officiating
The ball bounced our way and we got a number of favorable calls during this “streak”. Today we got almost none. The mojo had to end and it did in a big way. We received no calls in the paint and they turned their own air balls into easy points. It wasn’t going to last forever. Fun season. Let’s impr...

Early Wish List
I know we usually do these after the season is over, but I can't help myself. My wish list for the off season: 1. Manjon continues to develop a reliable 3-pointer. He will be even more deadly offensively, and the team will really benefit if his defender cannot sag off of him. 2. Jordan returns. 3. C...

22 wins
Who would have thought this team would have 22 wins? Especially having to play Bama, UK, A&M and Tennessee twice?

I think they were the VU of the big ten. Started slow, ended on a tear.

Backcourt
Manjon and Lawrence could be one of the better backcourts in the nation next year. Their skillsets are really complimentary.
Key is to get QMB and Dort skill level up to take the pressure off of them.

Wright needs to come back.
If he does, essentially the whole team that went 10-2 down the stretch against good competition returns. Could be really fun.

4th Best in SEC
My complaint is that by the most important metrics, VU is clearly the 4th best team in the SEC. VU tied for fourth in SEC standings VU was the only seed below 3 to make it to the semis of the SEC Tournament. Each of the SEC tournament teams below VU in the standings lost to VU in head to head games....

Why would Wright not come back? He is playing great and could have a great season.

Seniors: Next year's starting 5
I have been following VU Basketball for 30 years.
Could next year be the first ever in my recollection to start 5 seniors?
PG Manjon
SG Lawrence
SF Wright
SF Stute
C QMB

Last night's game would have been a real blowout had Trey and Miles hit 25% of their shots.

Finishing at the Basket
Have we had better finishers at the basket than Manjon and Laurence?
I remember John Jenkins was pretty good, and so was Kedren Johnson, but overall we've had a tough time finishing at the basket over the past 10 years.

"Luck" Statistic
Does anyone remember the "Luck" statistic that used to be talked about? I remember out of about 330 D1 basketball teams, the Stallings teams were always ranked in the 300s in terms of "luck", consistently. Meaning they would lose on last second shots and there were some other var...

Re: The last time Vandy beat KY up there but lost at home . . .
2. Can we have a do-over against LSU? 18-12 / 11-6 would have been a much more attractive line for bubble consideration
I rationalize it this way: Would you rather lose to LSU and beat UK at Rupp, or win at LSU and lose to UK at Rupp - I'll take the former.

Well that sucks
We were really in a position to do some damage in the SEC.
But, the ball has been bouncing our way for a while - tonight, just about all of the bounces were going LSU's way.
