That’s an interesting comparison. We really didn’t have much of a passing game under Dinardo, but that I-bone offense was designed to wear teams down. We had some terrific individual players on that defense (some of the players you mentioned are all-timers), but we always struggled with D line depth...

I taught 3 years at MSU in the 90s. Starkville is a very nice, quiet, out-of-the-way little town. As college towns go, it's very laid back and the townspeople and students are quite respectful. Good for Bakich. Not good for the sport of college baseball. The Big Ten remains the one major conference that is just not that interested in baseball. And the same can be said for the Midwest in general. No one even thinks about college baseball around the Midwest.

UGA is a worse job than Fla. So that pretty much tells you he didn’t feel like he would keep the UF job long.

If we do indeed have pitching depth, that would be tremendous. Last year we obviously had unbelievable top end performance, but if you really look at it Corbs only completely trusted about 5 or so pitchers.
