Re: Can we get some transfer portal love?
Please mote that Georgia did not use the portal and TCU did. The national champions recruited well, developed well, retained their talent and coached well. That is all we need to do, too. Forget the portal. I do not know if we can afford to forget the portal. You just gave us 2 teams that have very...

Can we get some transfer portal love?
Seems like every time I turn around, I am seeing a new article of someone in a high profiled program entering the transfer portal. Not everyone can transfer to UGA or Bama. Are we going to at some point get into the portal game. I know it is harder for Vandy to admit kids that are in the middle of t...

Re: Stackhouse
The lamest for a coach or player to make, but also actually the most true. I can see nitpicking a coach who is winning a ton of games. But certainly a coach who has a bad record at a school that historically has been pretty good at basketball seems like fair game. It seems reasonable to think that ...

Re: Stackhouse
At the risk of beating a moribund horse: Vanderbilt does not have access to transfer portal other schools do. How many "students" at Cleveland State can get admitted to VU, I ask. The portal and free flow of talent except to places like Vanderbilt has made coaching at VU immeasurably more...

Re: a few positive vibes
I do not have anything to analyze about this game. I will take the W. Any SEC win for me is awesome. And I think Liam is starting to heat up, which bodes well for us.

Re: Another cautionary tale from the portal
I always thought Mike should have moved to WR once he lost the starting job to AJ. He is tall, mobile, and has speed for days. If he can catch, he would be a perfect fit at wide out. I just do not see him being a starting QB in the SEC. I mean the guy is smart, a natural leader, and super athletic. ...

Re: A Freudian slip?
Gee, given that no one broke any rules and offered him NIL money before he committed to Minnesota, it's a wonder that he was somehow able to intuit that he would get it! This is all just brown paper bag stuff, without the bag, and this is not the last time this will happen to us. All this NIL stuff...

Can you cheer for SPJ to kill it in the NBA but hope his team still loses? As a lifelong Celtics fan, I just cannot cheer for the Lakers. But I do wish him all the best. He was a great Commodore.

With Sherrill signing, that leaves Sandoval, Storer, and Pimpton.

Re: OFFICIAL VandyMania Signing Day thread
Pimpton has been committed for a while. Hopefully his relationship he has built with the staff will overcome a late push from LSU. LSU is a sexy pick, don't get me wrong, but hopefully Pimpton wants to be part of something different. I hope he makes the right choice.

Re: OT: Possible national changes in football recruiting procedures
Now that college sports are more business oriented, commitments are like contracts. Especially if there is NIL involved. I say if you are not receiving NIL money you can transfer whenever to whoever you want. If you are receiving benefits outside of a scholarship such as money or NIL deals you shou...

Re: Vandy bringing in a Texas QB for OV, and other recruiting news
He is small but mobile. You can tell he thrives outside the pocket. Creates on the run. Can be a good thing depending on the offense. Kyler Murray is 5'10", Mahomes is 6'2". I like his athleticism.

Transfer portal
Seems like I keep seeing guys enter the transfer portal from all over the country. Quality guys. Surely, CCL can get some guys to came to Vandy, right? We need to get in the transfer portal game.

Re: Why are some disappointed so far?
I just don't think we are very talented. There are no super stars on the team that I can see, and I have watched a lot of games this year. There are flashes of talent but nothing consistent. We cannot seem to get everyone on the same page. The Pitt game was the first and only game I thought we playe...

Re: Are we going after any of the QBs in Portal? Should we?
I am all in on AJ. Remember, he was a true freshman and still did well. We need experienced linemen on both sides of the ball, the more the merrier. Games are won and lost in the trenches. Hit the portal for some experienced linemen. I would say next need would be Defensive Backs. Heck at this point...

Re: 5 Bama Linemen Enter Portal
This is where recruiting gets interesting. Are there some guys out there that are leaving for more playing time? Vandy offers that. Any of these guys get recruited by CCL when he was at ND and he has a history with? Very interesting to see how the portal plays a factor in the next few years. We are ...

Re: About the T on Robbins
Hoping the bs sec rules that prohibit coaches from l commenting openly about the referees don’t apply till to this non conference game. Can you imagine if that was CBD on the sideline instead? Clap, clap, great call ref!” I could not help but laugh at the "Clap, clap, great call ref!” comment....

Re: 2023, looking ahead
I predicted 4 wins this year, so having the team win 5 and finally stop the SEC losing streak was a big deal. I say this season was a success and a step in the right direction. Before I give a solid prediction for next year, I would like to see what happens with transfers and recruiting. If we can k...
