Re: Supreme Court ruling regarding sports gambling

My understanding of the case is that Supreme Court ruled that the Federal government can't regulate what is in the domain of the states. Therefore, it is up to each state to allow or disallow legalized gambling within their borders. Although there will be tremendous pressure in each state's legislat...

Re: ACC to propose expanding NCAA tournament by four teams to 72

Unless all basketball teams are in the tournament, there will always be "bubble" teams who feel they are overlooked and should be in. Every time the number of teams is expanded the length of the season is increased for those teams in the tournament. Where does this end? The logical conclus...

Recruiting for Nex Year

Now that the drama has subsided, it is time to look forward to next year's recruiting. What factors will lead to another great class? I think our record this coming year will be most important. How our coach uses our players will be another. What will be our primary needs, and what prospects are the...

Re: Our last MBB scholarship

Admire the optimism, but Langford will be at IU next year. With Finke off the table, I just hope VU can sign someone who fulfills a need for next season. At this stage of the recruiting cycle, though, I can see the scholarship going unfilled, sadly. It is too bad that you are so negative. We have a...

Re: Michael Finke visiting Vandy tomorrow for an official

Assuming at this point Langford is out of the picture. I really hope we get Finke. He'd fill a key missing piece next season and provide good experience. On the other hand, what if the coaches believe that Langford is still in play? Do they offer Finke, with the condition that it becomes binding af...

Re: What ft. Wayne's News-Sentinel thinks about Langford: Surprise!

Funny, ESPN has their own theory plastered all over their Men's BB page. Can you link to it, or is it an Insider piece? It's an Insider piece, but it's just recruiting writer Jeff Borzello's predictions for the last few uncommitted players in this class. He's predicting Langford to IU with a 55% co...

I believe that in the NBA there are bullies who can run over their opposition with impunity. LeBron is one, Harden is another. The NBA is a physical game, more so than is necessary for a good game, IMHO.

In tonight's game he has 3 fouls in 3+ minutes during the first half. Ouch. And no points.

Re: Warriors’ Damian Jones makes case to put an end to G League shuttle

One statement is striking: "Jones got away with taking plays off during his three seasons at Vanderbilt." We saw that. Stallings was unable to get him to change.

Re: Movement in the Langford CB

We have Garland as our lead recruiter. It appears that he and Langford have become great friends. I don't know how often they communicate with each other, but they may text or talk on the phone daily. There was some indication that Langford (or maybe it was Montgomery) said something like he expecte...

Re: OT: WB4

I watched the clip and read the article. Wade sounds pretty bitter toward the Grizzlies. I don't follow the NBA at all, so I don't know if they gave him a fair shake or not. I too don't follow the NBA closely. I think that Wade had to mature, to learn the NBA game. He needed to reduce his turnovers...

Re: E J Montgomery's back story...

I think the only way we get Montgomery is if we get Romeo. Darius is a fantastic recruiter for Vandy and may pull off the miracle of both Romeo and Montgomery.

Look at Darius "interviewing" players at the McDonalds, which appears in another thread below.

.....they do not fit....and are the last of the Stallings recruits....just would not be surprised if they are not being encouraged to look elsewhere. Ah, I forgot that every time players transfer, it's because their coach makes them, not because they actually want to. I do not have any definitive a...

Possible Transfers In

In the past few days the names of players potentially transfering into our program have appeared on this board. Some posters question why we would be interested in some of the players whose names appear. Remember, Vandy appears because the transferor listed Vandy as having interest It could range fr...

Re: KUsports.com: more Langford

There is another thread below titled "This is why Darius is the best recruiter in basketball." I have watched the video in that thread several times. Sooo funny. If we do get Langford, Darius will be the main reason, in my view. Because Langford will want to be on the same team as Darius.

Great reminder! Excited about Aaron. I was wondering about the below, though — do we have anyone on our team for next year who is a defender first and shooter second? It seems to me that most players are recruited over shooting these days. Good to have an equal helping of both skills. .... Here’s w...

I have joked many times: What would you prefer for your child? Last in the class at Harvard, or first in the class at [East Tennessee State; Middle Tennessee State; Bama; or name any other school whose academics we disparage]? Being top in the class shows organization, dedication to studies, drive, ...
