Re: Do we really need this forum?
Thanks for posting, historybill. I just wanted to make sure someone cared about this forum, so I will keep posting. The hottest kickoff temperature at Nissan Stadium was 89 degrees against the Raiders in 2016, so this game may set the record. While I enjoy being in section 309, there is absolutely n...

Do we really need this forum?
I am fine making an occasional post in the football forum to talk about the Titans. Having a separate forum just so EllistonVU and I can bicker seems pointless.
It's not fun for me, and likely not fun for him. And if no one else here is bothering to post, then please shut it down.
Thanks.

Titans destroy the Browns
43-13. Mariota with 248 yards, 3 TDs, and 0 INTs. :D Defense was dominant after giving up a first drive TD. Three interceptions, including a late pick six. Sacked Mayfield 5 times, including a safety. Cameron Wake was a huge free agent pickup to pressure the QB. I have been saying that the Titans ar...

Re: Andrew Luck retiring
WIth Houston in big trouble as well after losing RB Lamar Miller to a probable ACL tear, the Titans and Jaguars should be fighting for the top 2 division spots this year. Colts just don't win much with backup QBs. And I don't trust Nick Foles in the regular season to do much. Mariota will have every...

Andrew Luck retiring
According to ESPN. Press conference tomorrow.
That is huge news for Titans fans. We never beat him, but at least he can never beat us again. That changes the whole division.

Re: Not a single story in the Tennessean...
I don't think there is much of a chance that it will happen, to be honest. Regardless of who wins the mayor's race, I don't think a major league baseball stadium is in the political cards for Nashville. Also, the Titans will start asking for a new stadium in a few years, and it will almost certainl...

Sneds is in 2nd to last place after a terrible +3 today. The good news is that last place still pays around $350,000, but I hope he can things going these next three rounds.

Re: Swanson placed on 10-day injured list
The good news is that the Braves did pick up a great defensive shortstop last week, and that move has paid off handsomely. Many of the Braves pitchers try to create ground ball outs, and you need solid infielders to make it work (Marlins 2nd baseman last night had two errors in one inning, and it hu...

Re: Coming to college baseball?
I don't see robo-umps in college baseball anytime soon. There are just way too many college baseball stadiums to set up an expensive system like that in all of them. I am not even sure it will make it to MLB without a lot more experimentation and better technology.

Re: MLB lifers decry the state of the modern baseball: 'Unwatchable'
I find this year very watchable, but that mostly has to do with the Braves being one of the top teams this year. The Braves also have the NL leader in stolen bases who can also hit a bunch of homers. Swanson was having a career year, and hopefully can return soon. There are a lot of other great stor...

Re: BMW Championship
He finished in a tie for 5th, earning $351,500 and is in 18th place in the FedEx cup standings. That means he will start the championship at 2 under par.

Re: BMW Championship
Brandt has had a good day so far with 4 birdies and no bogeys to stay in a tie for 6th. Right now he is projected at #19 in the FedEx standings, though he had 5 holes to go. At least he appears to be safely in the top 30.

Titans with strong 2nd preseason game
The Titans first and second string did well last night, with both Mariota and Tannehill throwing TDs, and the defense getting an interception of Hoyer and recording a safety. Mariota also ran in a 2-point conversion, the Titans second one of the preseason (glad they are practicing it, since it has b...

Re: BMW Championship
Sneds went four under on the back nine to shoot a bogey free five under. He moved up to a tie for sixth.
I watched some of the highlights on pgatour.com. Two of his birdies were from off the green (one in the bunker) on par 3s (and they were very long chips).

You hate to see a bogey on a par 5, like he did today. He did finish one under, but he is in a tie for 15th now.

Re: Bryan Reynolds now leading the NL in batting average
Tatis is likely out for the season after hurting his back today. While I hate to see any player injured, that does help Reynolds get more attention, thought it will still be hard to beat Alonso of the Mets, who has already tied the NL rookie home run record.

Sneds off to an good start with a birdie on 1 and pars on 2-4. There are no cuts, so hopefully Brandt can stay in the top 30 all tournament.

Re: 20 second pitch clock coming to NCAA baseball in 2020
Is the pitcher awarded a strike when the batter keeps stepping out? Should. If a batter steps out with less than 5 seconds on the pitch clock, a strike will be assessed. The SEC already implements most of this rule. The big difference is that all pitches will have a pitch count, even with runners o...
