Re: OT: Duke 21 Clemson 7 10:33 4th

Nice deflection charleston, but we aren't talking about bottle throwing, which IS deplorable and reprehensible, NOR about storming Cameron. No one storms the field after an expected or routine win -- but thanks for stating the obvious in your deflection Glad your granddaughter enjoyed the game and t...

Whoa! Better not let charleston see this. When a certain team's fans stormed the field after its bama win last year, it offended his tender sensibilities so much that he called it "unsportsmanlike and deplorable!"    Screen Shot 2023-09-05 at 9.32.11 AM.png

Re: Oh oh, SEC is now 1-2 vs. ACC…

Was really surprised at the LSU-FSU outcome and the margin, discounting the last LSU score with about a minute or so left.

I count 10 SEC-ACC matchups during this regular season, so plenty of time to turn this around, starting Saturday at Wake.

Re: Thoughts on Vandy's 47-13 WIN over Alabama A&M

"There were some trouble spots, for sure: AAMU converting four third downs on its opening field goal drive..." Yeah, sitting in the stadium watching that drive, I was thinking that Vanderbilt's constant playing of the trumpet solo from Narco (the Third Down theme for when Vanderbilt is on...

Re: Please help ID two Vandy players

Looking over that box score I linked, I noticed Phillip "Doom" Haynes played for Northside. Does anyone remember him when he played for Memphis? He was one of my favorites because he banked every shot he could. Whenever Memphis was on TV back then, I would never miss the game just to see ...

Re: OT: Gators playing first non-conference road game outside Florida in 30+ years

Amazing that it's been that long for them. Most SEC teams venture out across the country for non-conference games frequently, including Vanderbilt. The Commodores have played non-cons out of state at least once each of the last 5 years except for the pandemic year of 2020 when all SEC schools played...

Looks like that may be the case, unfortunately. It's mid-day Monday and they're still dark. Don't see why they can't be turned back on through the week.

Couple of questions & a comment

1. What was the SECOND unsportsmanlike penalty for? I read in the game thread that the first one was highly questionable -- maybe a VU player stumbling into an opponent while getting up from a tackle. But there was no description in the game thread about the second call. 2. The reason I have to ask ...

In the mindset of focusing on the positives and appreciating a win which is no gimme - I wasn't surprised at all by this. Honestly, they found a way to win despite really being outplayed and outcoached which is something. I picked a one touchdown game because I figured Hawaii would be leaps and bou...
