Re: That Schedule Reveal was bogus ...

Well, as was well reported during and prior to the recent SEC meeting in Destin, Sankey wants a 9-game schedule but there was not full support for that among the schools (especially when Lord Saban began expressing reservations after seeing that his permanent opponents would likely be Auburn, LSU an...

But seriously, that video is so bad it's good. I kinda like it.

Re: Podcast: James Franklin talks about leaving VU & the commitment level

Fayette I know you are Vanderbilt and UT fan which has no bearing on my statement but until franklin has publicly stated that he was wrong (or regretted) on poaching the players that Vanderbilt funded the recruitment process I have no empathy for and will not listen to his BS. Thanks Mike but just ...

Just FYI, on the version I watched at the link, the "Let's be honest, nobody wanted that job" part starts about 9 minutes in.

“I went into that Wisconsin visit not thinking of committing as a possibility,” Cory said. “I was stern about taking the three official visits. But getting to see everything at Wisconsin, it was just so perfect. I can’t explain it, other than it felt like a perfect fit. So I decided not to take the...

I'm not seeing that sentiment much BUT: do you really want to make the point that they would rather play a tough schedule than a weak one? h0404

Re: OT: Big Bad John Ingram

I'm with Big John on this one. A racetrack doesn't need to be in that area; when I lived in Oak Hill, a good 5-8 miles away, it sounded like it was next door. I'd hate to think how loud it is in all the new residential development over in that area. And as noted above, there's a virtually new track ...

Re: Support for a 9-game SEC slate is reportedly waning

I never liked the 9-game format either. But I find it interesting that it seemed like it was almost a done deal until suddenly Alabama decides it doesn't like it. Also amusing that Coach Saban doesn't want to play Auburn-LSU-Tennessee every year. Except for last year with LSU and Tennessee, he's don...

Since you don't want to pay the newspaper for its work, you could search and try to find the Form 990s yourself if it interests you enough.

Re: Commit Connor Cobb’s team DQ’d after no hitter

Sucks for the kid and team. Coach should've been following it closer. That said, the word on the street is that the info about pitch count violation came from a coach who was not participating in the game. His team was already in the championship game and was scouting to see who he'd have to play. ...

I think Vanderbilt Stadium or whatever we called it two seasons ago emptied in 10-15 minutes after the ETSU game … and after the Temple game about 10 years ago. LOL. I was there for both. As you remember, the Temple game ran until well after midnight due to repeated storm delays before the game. Th...

Tweet from Vandy Volleyball about the Atlanta visit. Here's the VU Athletics Department story , which says the ATL event was attended by about 125 people. The photos lead to a question: when flashing the "VU" hand sign, should the palm or the back of the hand face outward? Screen Shot 202...

Re: Deion Sanders is the antithesis of Clark Lea

I remember seeing the clips of his very first meeting with his new players after moving out to Colorado. As I recall, he was even then encouraging their departure in, uh, a very non-diplomatic way. When you have coaches like that, I'm not going to fault players for wanting to bail and I'm glad the p...

I have it on very good authority that several of Charleston's posts were pinned up on the bulletin boards in the Vols' locker room and, for good measure, the dugout too. 8-) You have removed any fig leaf of doubt regarding your fandom. Congratulations on your team's three wins this weekend. Thanks ...
