Re: Robbins
I've noticed the lack of a boot or seemingly any other support for his ankle/foot. I'm sure wise medical people are doing their best, but something didn't sit well with me. If you are right he returns sooner, then that would be great, but I've rarely seen any of our guys come back early from an inju...

Re: Rotation
I may be one of the guys you are referring to Ultimate when it comes to minutes for Shelby, and also not typically pleased with the amount of minutes Trey gets in most games. I don't want to try to speak for anyone else, but let me try to clear something up. When I'm talking about this, my main poin...

Re: Stack post game radio interview.
I agree that the older players were pulled in the 2nd half and it was the right things to do it seemed. I may start sounding like a broken record, and my apologies if I do that. Why was Thomas not treated the same as Wright, Stute, or even QMB? He played just as poorly, if not worse than some of the...

Re: How old are the people on this board?
(somedays being a Baptist Minister doesn't allow me the freedom to travel) Doesn't being a Baptist minister hinder your Vandy fandom? Like: 1. Wondering if there is a God, and 2. "Conversing" with the refs (either in person or on the TV) when they make a bad call. I am a Baptist myself (n...

Re: Colin Smith/Noah Shelby Injured?
I tweeted the question about Smith and Shelby yesterday, and got a response from the VandySports guy, Joey Dwyer, about Shelby: "Coach expects more from him on the defensive end, and also his shot selection" Cannot argue those points at all... No mention of Smith. Could be just the way th...

Re: How old are the people on this board?
I'm 58. No one in my family has ever attended Vanderbilt, yet we are extremely dedicated life long fans! Our dad growing up by Centennial Park, and being the youngest of 8 kids allowed him to walk over on game days. As he tells it, they didn't have extra money to afford tickets, but being a kid hang...

Re: Sometimes fate forces you hand
Very good points from each of you. One unfortunate thing I noticed about Manjon that probably doesn't work so well starting Tuesday night. I've noticed in previous games that he typically works at doing what he did at Georgia, he drives the ball, forced the defense to rotate which gives him changes ...

Re: Three Point Percentage
I should of said a few more things on this subject. There are multiple posters on here that probably have done way more work than I have in knowing more about who is playing along with who & the impact those decisions have made. I believe it was Jason that has warned us multiple times about how ...

Re: Three Point Percentage
I actually believe there is a real reason Stute is struggling from 3 in the SEC. Actually two reasons I see, #1 is most of the games he plays along with players that don't open up the best shooting lanes. Thomas doesn't penetrate well enough to draw the defense away from the 3pt line, and QMB doesn'...

Re: The talent is there
One more thing, I believe I heard the announcers say this during the Missouri game, but it could of been another game. Either way, they said that Coach Stackhouse admitted he is still learning the college game from a coaching standpoint. My jaw dropped at this comment. He has coached now for 3 1/2 ...

Re: The talent is there
I will confess that I pretty much understand Coach Stallings usage of time outs, and I mostly agreed with his view of when to call timeout. I understand what you are saying about Roy/UNC refusal to call time outs, but didn't Coach Stackhouse play for Dean Smith? How does Roy influence Coach Stackhou...

Re: The talent is there
I'm going to assume I'm not the only one here that has heard Coach Stackhouse say this, but each time I'm frustrated with the starting line up/minutes played by players and more, "he said that Jordan and some of the other veteran players prefer to come off the bench to start the game." As ...

Re: We needed that
In the post game comments, Stack also said Jordan's hip issue was a 2nd time issue this season. Then he got funny and said, you have to watch out for these smart young men, Jordan may be trying to get out of practice :). He reiterated that Jordan is so tough and even though he struggled early with h...

Re: 9.7 sec left down 1
All of that was GREAT! I work on Wednesday nights and typically can't make these games, but I had some vacation I was going to lose...goodnight to be at a fun game. Two small things, Dia wasn't in on that final play & unless I misunderstood Stack in his post game comments, Lawrence was option #2...

Re: Why are you a Vanderbilt fan?
Great Topic! Simple answer is my dad grew up by Centennial Park & as he was the youngest of 8, he would find a way over to the crowds going into the football games in the fall while my grandparents worked running a market in east Nashville. My dad passed along his fandom to his 3 kids, and we al...

Re: There are currently 131 schools in FBS...
I'm certainly not a coach, nor do I have enough access to understand all of the defensive player's responsibilities on any given play. Often something that seems unimportant to me as a fan dictates why a certain player would be what looks like out of position and so on. I may already be answering my...

Re: the parts of this team
This team has a missing part. I felt the same way in a few other seasons such as Coach Drews first season. Maybe there are more of these recently as well, but its been more noticeable to me this season. Where are the "glue guys", the guys that dive for loose balls, the guys that at times c...

Re: What will it now take to be regarded as a successful college basketball coach?
I'm a Vanderbilt fan, I'm a student athlete fan, I'm a college basketball fan and somewhere in the middle of all of this things don't seem to be fitting together correctly with me. Maybe the struggle is because "its not like it use to be", or even "we've never done it this way before&...
